About SMG Canada
Meridian Centre is proudly an SMG Canada managed facility. Created in response to the demand for professionally managed public assembly facilities, SMG Canada ULC is the Canadian arm of SMG.
SMG is the world leader in venue management, marketing and development. It was founded in 1977 with the management of our first facility, the Louisiana Superdome. We soon grew to manage convention centres, exhibition halls and trade centres, arenas, stadiums, performing arts centres, theatres, and specific-use venues such as equestrian centres. SMG’s clients benefit from the company’s depth of resources and its unparalleled expertise, leadership, and creative problem-solving. Our successful growth has been built on the many partnerships, relationships, and resources we have developed with our clients — both municipal and private. This unique combination of resources, relationships, and expertise has allowed SMG to define and refine the industry throughout its history.
SMG has continually defined a management philosophy and style that has led to its industry-leading position, with over 210 facilities throughout the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, England, Northern Ireland, Norway and Germany. Now, an SMG facility has come to St. Catharines, Ontario. The Meridian Centre, the 160,000 sq.ft, 5,300 seat entertainment complex is owned by the City of St. Catharines.
