Public skates are open to all ages and will take place on select Sundays from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Please ensure to read all the details below concerning pricing, possible schedule changes, entry, parking, and ice policies. 

Outside food & beverage are not permitted into the facility. The concession stand next to the change rooms will be open for all guests!

Pricing & Payment

  • Cash or Credit only. No Debit 
  • Payment will be taken at the Community Entrance doors. 
  • Prices include taxes
  • Child/Youth (17 years & under) : $3.00
  • Adults (18-64 years) $4.00
  • Seniors (65+ years) $3.00
  • Family* $11.00
    • *Family fee applies to immediate family living in the same household

Note: Clip cards can only be redeemed at the Meridian Centre (not available for purchase).

Skates, Helmets, Skate Sharpening

  • Skate rentals, helmet rentals, and skate sharpening are not available at the Meridian Centre. 
  • Skates can be sharpened at Buckner's Source For Sports (905-641-0066 or click here)

Entry & Parking

  • Enter through the Community Entrance only
  • Parking is still very limited and we encourage skaters to park in one of the city lots or street parking. View our parking guide here.

Ice Policies

  • Guests 14 and under must wear a CSA approved helmet at all times.
  • No outside food, beverage or alcohol is permitted on the property
  • Chairs, sleds, hockey sticks, pucks, and other obstructions are not permitted on the ice surface.(Pylons available for children's skate assistance)
  • Games such as tag or racing, as well as backward skating, figure skating maneuvers or erratic skating are not permitted.
  • Refrain from carrying children.
  • Ice skates are to be worn on the ice surface at all times.
  • No chain skating.
  • Do not throw ice or snow.
  • Please skate at a sensible speed.
  • Adhere to the directions of arena staff members.
  • No sitting on the boards.
  • Proof of payment may be required prior to entering the ice surface
  • Profanity and improper behavior will not be permitted
  • Report all accidents or injuries to arena staff members immediately
  • No headsets, cell phones or handheld electronic devices are to be used while skating
  • Alcoholic beverages, illegal substances, or anyone under the influence will not be permitted on the premises
  • Meridian Centre is a smoke-free property

During events, parking at the Meridian Centre is limited to accessible spots with a government issued permit. However, there are some easy parking options available in the downtown core. Visit our Parking page for specifics.

For safety reasons, no electronics or cameras should be used on the ice surface. Please note that you may be video recorded or photographed while in the venue during events.
