October marks an exceptional milestone in the history of the Meridian Centre; five years of bringing outstanding entertainment to the Niagara Region. To celebrate, we are hosting a special public skate this Sunday, October 20th from 3:00-4:30 p.m.

Fun for all ages, you are invited to bring your family and friends to skate with the community, grab some popcorn, and enter to win one of our great prizes!

Admission is free with a suggested donation of $5 to $10 which will be accepted at the door. All proceeds will be donated to the Niagara-based charity Wise KIDS, a newly formed branch of the Wise Guys Charity, to help support youth-focused initiatives in the local community.

Skates, Helmets, Skate Sharpening

  • Skate rentals, helmet rentals, and skate sharpening are not available at the Meridian Centre. 
  • Skates can be sharpened at Buckner's Source For Sports (905-641-0066 or click here)

Entry & Parking

  • Enter through the Community Entrance only
  • Parking is still very limited and we encourage skaters to park in one of the city lots or street parking. View our parking guide here.

Ice Policies

  • Guests 14 and under must wear a CSA approved helmet at all times.
  • No outside food, beverage or alcohol is permitted on the property
  • Chairs, sleds, hockey sticks, pucks, and other obstructions are not permitted on the ice surface.(Pylons available for children's skate assistance)
  • Games such as tag or racing, as well as backward skating, figure skating maneuvers or erratic skating are not permitted.
  • Refrain from carrying children.
  • Ice skates are to be worn on the ice surface at all times.
  • No chain skating.
  • Do not throw ice or snow.
  • Please skate at a sensible speed.
  • Adhere to the directions of arena staff members.
  • No sitting on the boards.
  • Proof of payment may be required prior to entering the ice surface
  • Profanity and improper behavior will not be permitted
  • Report all accidents or injuries to arena staff members immediately
  • No headsets, cell phones or handheld electronic devices are to be used while skating
  • Alcoholic beverages, illegal substances, or anyone under the influence will not be permitted on the premises
  • Meridian Centre is a smoke-free property
  • Staff is not responsible for lost or stolen items
  • Lost and Found Information: please call 905-684-8400 with a description of the item as well as the date you attended. 

During events, parking at the Meridian Centre is limited to accessible spots with a government issued permit. However, there are some easy parking options available in the downtown core. Visit our Parking page for specifics.
